As of now a (white) child molester got off with 10 MONTHS of PROBATION after repeatedly molesting a 13 year old girl. The judge was afraid what would happen to the man in jail because he was of a small stature. At the same time a (black)boy had CONSENTUAL sex with his GIRLFRIEND but becuase of their TWO YEAR age difference putting him barely over 18 and his girlfriend barely under 18 he could possibly serve 10 YEARS.

By the way I'm white so I'm not looking for the rasism

No, it's not a matter of racism.

In the first case, the judge exercised discretion -- making what I personally believe is a stupid call.

In the second case, it was a matter of the statute requiring a mandatory minimum -- the judge had no discretion. Neither in the law (which was changed after that case) nor the sentence.

Two different States. One judge had a lot of discretion in deciding the molester's fate and made a stupid call.

The other judge and no discretion and was forced to make a stupid call.

Both are fixable. The first judge should be tossed off the bench at the next election. The law needs to be changed in the second incident.

I trust judges, more than legislators, to hand down the appropriate sentencing for an individual case.
