High Definition decribes the resolution of the image. Cable TV broadcasts are usually sent with a fairly low resolution. High Definition channels have a much better resolution, which makes the pitcture much more clear and detailed. High Definition Disks (HDs) or Blue Ray disks (BDs) are used to store high definition movies. They have a higher capacity than DVDs.

If your video card supports high definition, it usually means that it can accept a TV signal at high definition. It does not mean that the resolution within windows will be higher.

HD is in 2 ways. 1 the chip that supports the video size. 2 it can be broadcast thru a signal. if you want to see it for yourself. get your video card, get a hd cable, then get yourself a hd tv. now hook it all up. and you will see more than just reality.
