i used the 3m smooth transition tape when i was doing a spot repair for shooting clear coat. it still left thin lines ,maybe scuff marks how do i fix that problem?

Flaws of any type in clear coat are removed by water sanding with 1500 grit then polishing with rubbing compound.
When this is a line inside the jambs that is extreme,it may need to be sanded out and lightly sprayed.

A fine grade of buffing compound? Or you can start with a clearcoat cleaner wax. good luck.
