I think "too good to be true" is an unrealistic, fictitiously flawless, somewhat pretentious "ideal". I'd rather be who I am, flaws and all, and liked as such for the right reasons. If I am too good to be true, then doesn't that imply that the majority of people like me so much that they question that I am even for real? No one can meet that standard all of the time nor in the company of everyone. We all have flaws in the eyes of others. So, why aspire to an impossible standard? I rather be too much to handle for most but be considered too good to be true in spite of my downfalls in the eyes of those that matter.

I guess if I had to pick one, I would rather be TOO good TO be true...and still very genuine, like I am currently...although, I do think both TOO good TO be true and TOO much TO handle are just a matter of perspective. If I was with the "right" person, I believe they could handle anything and everything about me...faults and all.

It depends on how you mean it, if you meant that I am too good to be true as in that i am such a sweet person that you can't believe ti than yes, but if you meant it that I'm too good to be true (fake) than no. as for too much to handle If you mean it in a good way than yes, if you mean it in a bad way such as the person is a b***h than no. My guy tells me I am a little of both. He says I'm what he was looking for (his soul mate) and that at times I can be too much to handle(like when he tries to outsmart me on something or hide a surprise I always know ahead of time) women's intuition =))))))). he also says I can be a b***h sometimes too, especially when it comes to protecting my loved ones but he says that is one of the reasons why he loves me so much. I care about my friends and family a lot and would walk through fire and hell for them.

My Husband says that I am too much to handle, meaning that in an argument if I am right I always Win it. But I have said it time and time again that if we argue a point it is because he always wants to have the last word on it, even if he is wrong. But it is all in fun, we always laugh about it.

Actually a bit of both, and so I have been accused of. Once was told by my young boss, that she never believed everyone when they said I was that "nice". The other is "the reason I hired you for this position is you are a free spirit, I saw it as you walked into the room" So free spirti, just a bit too much to handle with enough understanding and manners to really appreciate others.

too much to handle = a pain to others
too good to be true = an inspiration

Personally I feel that I am both for most people, as I am told this quite frequently. I would prefer to be too much to handle. This way I am not put on a pedestal that as human I am not meant to stand upon.
Blessings and love,
BESS

Too much to handle. It means I couldn't be manipulated. So I could simply be true - for good or ill. That'll do me. It always did. That's how you learn.

Myself, and whether I'm too good to be true or too much to handle would vary from person to person.

Well I am already too much to handle ;-)

I'm also hard to catch and keep in one place for too long ;-)

So I think I would like to try beeing too good to be true. . . but that would go against my nature - TROUBLE and NAUGHTY

lol
