You have a short circuit somewhere in the wiring. You want to fix this quickly, because if memory serves me correctly, that circuit also has the rear running lights on it! You most likely have no lights in the rear.

Look for pinched or worn wires. You may try replacing the fuse again, and turning on the interior lights, and not the headlights. If that works, turn on the headlights and see if it blows the fuse. If it does, you know the problem is in the tail lights. If the fuse blows without the lights on, the problem is in the interior.

You may have to take the car to a good auto electrical specialist to find the short!

Good luck!

More than likely it`s your headlight switch. That is the common junction . Disconnect the switch and put a fuse in and see if it blows it.

Sounds like you have a short in your wiring, like the other dude said. Get it checked asap before more issues develop!

I hope you're not this dumb, but look at your original fuse and your second fuse and make sure the contacts look alike and that they're rated for the same amperage. If they're the same, then take it to a mechanic or someone who knows more than you do.

The most common thing that you can check yourself is loose or damaged door pin switches. These are little push button switches on each door jamb. Locate them and make sure they are not hanging loose or bent and damaged. There is also one in the glove box, console box and trunk of some cars. Check them all carefully Not much else you can check yourself.

Good luck
