I should be ovulating but still haven't. Keep thinking if I've got my Day 1 wrong. Here's the info. (sorry about being detailed)

Jul 6 3pm dark brown spotting/period?
Jul 7 very light blood (pad white in the morning, then just barely a little on pad by night)
Jul 8 light blood (definitely considered period here)

I've posted a question on whether or not Jul 6's dark brown is considered spotting or period, but I've got different opinions. Right now I'm considering Jul 6 as Day 1. But I keep wondering if I'm wrong. What do you think?

I usu. have a 26-28 cycle and my ovu. day has been around Day 14-15 eversince I've charted. I used opks before and have concluded that they don't work for me either. Observing EWCM is the best for me. When the EWCM starts going away my temp. would soon rise. That's how I determined my ovu. day.

Whatever route you choose be consistant from month to month. I personally use the first day of any vaginal bleeding/spotting, brown/red as Day one. This is what my doctor suggested and I had also read this as well. How did you determine that today was your date of ovulation and how do you know you haven't ovulated already? I chart my temperatures to help determine a pattern of ovulation from month to month. I didn't have much luck with opk's. They were too difficult to read.
You could always ask your doctor what he/she suggests.
good luck

July 6 is Day 1

You could be having a delay in Ovulating though...stress even can do that. I argued with an OB once about conception date b/c she wanted to use Day 1 of LMP and I KNEW I had a delayed ovulation.

The u/s she finally ordered backed me up and she changed my EDD to 2 weeks later than the LMP was giving, the same EDD I was stating all along. Our daughter was born ON the corrected EDD.

I am with you on this one. Ever since I have stopped the b/p I have had the brown spotting for a day before I start my period so as soon as the red flow starts that I when I have been considering my day one. Well good luck with everything and babydust is thrown your way:)

I'm one of those people who has their period for 7 days...when actually the first 3 are just light/barely there spotting. so i counted from the day that i had to wear more than a light day so 14 days later we tried and i became pregnant. but everyones different. i also experience LIGHT cramping during my ovulation time.

The first day of a full RED flow is day one. Anything else is just spotting. So July 8th is Cycle Day 1.

Good Luck!

http://www.mymonthlycycles.com/ use this tool to help track your periods over a couple of months.
I've always used day 1 as the first day i continually bled - not just a little spotting - unless it was spotting all day.

I would start from the 8th because the brown (dark blood) is old blood! Check within a day or so!

Cycle day 1 is always considred your first day of red flow, more than spotting. So the 8th.

I would also go with the 6th. Have you been using the ovulation predictor kits and charting your temperature? How long are your cycles usually?
