I began dilating at 33 weeks with my 3rd child. She came the quickest of my 4 kids. All were born past their due dates, but she was the closest, only 5 days late. My entire labor with her was only 4 1/2 hours long from waking up from a sound sleep to go to the bathroom and my water broke to finding out she was posterior and needed to be delivered by forceps. If she had been turned right I am not sure I would have made it to the hospital on time. I had a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions with her so my doctor checked my cervix a little more often than he did with my other 3.

All woman are different and some women dialate this early and others dont. Your dr. probably will either check you in your last month and some doctors will not check you until you are in labor. There really is no need to check you unless there is a problem. Most women say that their 3rd come very quickly but at the same time other woman still will experience a long labor. I guess you will have to wait and see haha. Good luck!

I started dialating at 32 weeks this is my 3rd child I am now 36 weeks pregnant. I have always heard the more children you have the quicker they come I know my 2nd child came a lot faster than the first but I'm sure every labor is different. Ask your doctor to check you at your next appt. that's what you're paying them for! Best of luck to you and congrats!!!

My doctor checked me at 36 weeks and I was 1 cm dialated.
The only reason she checked me was because she was doing the one test where they test to see if you have that bacteria that can be passed to baby when he/she is coming out and she was already going to be down there. So I said yes she could. I wish I wouldn't have asked because now I'm always thinking why isn't my baby here yet!

normal dialation should start between 32 and 40 weeks. it is okay and means nothing as far as labor goes. i was 3 cm dialated for 5 weeks before i went in to labor. the doctor should start giving you vaginal exams again no later than 36 weeks and should repeat them weekly until birth. as far as third child. you should not have him sooner than the other two however labor could definately be shorter. hope this helps. good luck
