It's all a matter of opinion, Atlanta Falcon and Die hard football fans will say no. P.E.T.A personell and other animal lovers will say yes and want more than that. This is how it breaks down.
THE NFL STANDPOINT
Though Vick has has other numerous "incidents" (i.e the water bottle incident, the "flipping off" of the fans") nothing was really criminal and this indictment still makes him a first time offender. The new NFL Player Conduct Policy states that first time offenders will not be suspended. It was created for "MULTIPLE" offenders. Now if the only thing that happens to Vick is this indictment and he is not convicted or is found innicent then I can see Vick getting susspended. But if he is found GUILTY (which has not been proven) then the NFL should be planning to ban him for severl years or even for life. The NFL is treating this no differently than any other case.
THE STANDPOINT OF P.E.T.A and others.
Dogs, we love them, they are like out unregistered siblings. Can you imagine someone just electricute Your dog, shooting it with a 22 in the leg, and slamming it into the ground just to make him/her fight? It horrible and makes me sick to my stomach. This is where P.E.T.A is coming from. They are working so hard to make sure he gets everything he deserves. And if he is found guilty then he should get everythign he deserves (lots o' jail time).
CONCLUSION
Remember the old phrase in this country "innocent until proven guilty" sure there is a lot of evidence pointing to Vick but im going by that phrase for right now. Remember how hard everyone was on the Duke Lacross Players? They were innocent. But a few things bug me. If Vick is innocent how could someone afford to keep 40+ dogs in HIS house. Only time will tell. As for what I think the NFL should do. They can require him to take counsuling. I think Vick should just take a leave from football for a year. It would be best for everyone.

Although I am a lifetime Saints fan, I am very objective in my opinion about this subject. Vick should be suspended. The feds have brought charges against him. This isn't the simple "I stole gum out of wal-mart" offense. This is something serious. If convicted he can do up to 6 years and be fined up to 350 large. My primary reason for saying Vick should be suspended - look at Pacman Jones. Jones recieved a year long suspension BEFORE (I repeat BEFORE) he was indited on any charges (yes he was arrested like 10 times in a 12 week period and he may be getting arrested right now), so why should Ron Mexico, I mean Michael Vick get a pass and should be allowed "due process" before Goddell lowers the boom. He should get the MINIMUM of four games. There will be a ton of pressure on Goddell to punish Vick, and you know what, he deserves punishment. Don't give me this crap about "he might not be
guilty". He IS guilty. Guilty of being an idiot. All time leading rusher Emmitt Smith said it best. Where these guys are going, not everyong can come with them. Vick needs to align himself with better people and not make such stupid decisions. Michael Ronald Mexico Vick, you sir are guilty, GUILTY OF STUPIDITY. Your sentence is that someone shadows you everywhere you go and slaps the shyt outta you when you attempt to do someghint dumb.

I was glad to read that the NFL and the Falcons made a statement against such cruel activities by one of their players-keeping in mind their disclaimer that they will let the court decide his guilt or innocence. I think the next step for them would be to move quickly on their "personal conduct" policies and suspend him until the outcome of the court's action. Nike has already distanced itself from him, and the rest of the "market"- the public and football fans- should do the same, based on the evidence so far.

i agree that this has nothing to do with football but right is right and wrong is wrong..and this is what happens when you surround your self with the wrong people and dont get rid of those child hood friends who just want to shine off of you..its just sickning to hear about this but vick is an adult and im pretty sure he knew dog fighting is a crime and one day it would all come out..i think its best if he just take time off and focus on trying to fix this because there will be no way he can concentrate on the football field with this situation and im pretty sure fans will give him a hard time

Should be suspended but since the NFL is a business and Vick makes the NFL alot of money they will probably do nothing.

Most Football fans seem to be disgusted by the accusation.
Football is entertainment.
You can't be entertained by someone you hate.
But I say NO. the NFL is heading down a slippery slope, if they begin to suspend players based on allegations and indictments.

Vick is just a piece of garbage. He is a ghetto piece of trash who has a bunch of thugs who stick up for him. I hated him since he gave all of his salary paying diehard fans 2 middle fingers. What a d*i*c*k. Now as for dog fighting, I watch the animal planet SPCA show all the time with my girlfriend and anyone who does that to dogs, even if its just on a property you own, you deserve to be prosecuted heavily. This IS NOT BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION!!! Vick is a disgrace of a human being and deserves to be banned from football and thrown in jail, no question.

He should have been fired the minute this all came to light. Then he should be tarred and feathered and yes raped. I am so disgusted and outraged at the things that went on there on his farm from hell. And I swear if anybody in my presence utters the phrase innocent until proven guilty I am going to go off on them. That rotten piece of #%#^&*^ knew exactly what was going on. How chickenshit of him to say he didn't know. But then a brave man would never do or need to do the things he's done. And dear God please tell me he doesn't have any children. Because I know if I were related to him he would never see mine again.

Suspended without pay and put in jail. I am a dog lover but even people that aren't find what he did horrendous. Anyone who does what he did is a unstable person. If he tortured or even alowed totrture to take place, what else is he capable of and does he have a heart? I use to respect him as a player but now I don't respect him as a player or a human

i dont think so, he is the scape goat for this whole organization and law enforcers are trying to get at it through him, sure he saw some dog fights but this has been blown out of proportion at least in terms of michael vick. emmitt smith recently said something like that so u can look up what he said if u want to see his thoughtwhich i believe are better than most of the ignorant idoits who now hate michael vick without truly knowing all the facts ( maybe im wrong but i dont think vick is as the media has made him)
