a kind person just answered one of my questions and said I must be a giving person, with a need to give because I was an elem teacher. It is very true,but how do you all know that ?

Your salary.
Police officers and teachers are some of the most important members of society. One protects us and the other assures our future; they are also chronically underpaid.
I haven't read your response so I can't analyze what you said, but anyone willing to make the sacrifice to become a teacher at least starts with a good heart. No one becomes a teacher to get wealthy or powerful.
Since I started answering questions on this site I have become a bit of a teacher and all I am getting paid are two points per response. Two points that really stacked up and so far after a year I have a sticker and a coffee cup to show for it. Clearly, I am not in it to get rich and there are other ways to spend my time.
I take my time to craft each response and try to get the best answer because I really want to inform and educate a little. My audience is small, but I have gotten some very nice email. And I have even met my girlfriend though this site so it ends up I have gotten more out of it than I put in.

I think teachers are unable to understand the art of thinking they stop minds devoloping by calling gifted kids trouble makers because they question lies
