In my building I would be scared. Two of my co-workers were stuck on the elevator for 45 min. after it dropped them a floor. I hear that you won't just drop straight down that there are like 5 cables and elevators have brakes on them. I've been on the elevator when it dropped a floor, but got off at the next floor and took the stairs. Not fun.

Well, I'm not scared of elevators as in, I will cry if I have to get into one, but sometimes when I'm in an elevator I feel like something could go wrong and I will, like, get stuck in one. Like in movies when the people are in an elevator and it stops all of a sudden and you can't go anywhere..... It gives me the creeps.

No, but sometimes when I'm in the back of a very FULL elevator I have a moment of anxiety about the elevator getting stuck with all of those people packed so closely together and me so far from the door.

No. But there's this horror story I read before and there was this guy going to work so there's this elevator and some creepy guy tells him to get in. He says no thank you I will take the next one. The guy gets mad and he tries to force him in and he fights him off and the elevator closes and he hears screams and the elevator falls and everybody dies. PS- I am only afraid of escalators.

i am because my grandpa's friend was helping fix an elevator that was broken and they put them together like carnival rides! the cables break a lot and the doors do not always open..they get stuck...the electricity goes out..there could be a fire when your in it. one time our hotel caught fire and my dad had his own room and my mom and us [kids] had our own on a different floor, floor 19. my dad was on 20 [the highest]. well, the fire was on THAT floor and my FAMILY went back to look for him. then i got outside (9 years old) Christmas eve, Florida and was lost. my dad was missing. and then the fire fighters put out the fire and my dad was in the ELEVATOR! ALIVE! he had just woke up to get some root beer in his PJs and saw smoke in his suite! so he got in the elevator last minute because he was to lazy to walk down the stairs. so the pres of the school board was seen on vacation at his worst ever and ended up on the front page of the news!

I have touch of fear every time I get in one, but I won't pass them up to take the steps. When I was about 8 yrs. old I remember the elevator drop when I was in the hospital, for a broken arm, and I believe that is where my fear came from.

Not really.
Although i have to admit that i have watched too many movies that show somebody get stuck inside for hours waiting for rescue, or when the steel string cut-off and you die for falling, or even stupider, a ghost inside the elevator.
But i guess for those who are afraid, maybe for claustrophobics because the biggest elevator that i have ever been is like..27square meter ;)

No, but I hate when there is a power failure and I get cough in the elevator, or when I have to go 6 stories up with my groceries.

Yes, I am very scared of elevators! I am scared that I am going to get stuck in one and they will not be able to get me out, or that the cables are going to break and I am going to fall to my death. Maybe I am just crazy.
