I don't really care about "all over the world".

I live in a country that claims to be "free", yet they want to outlaw recreational use of a plant.

On top of that, they waste tons of money to do it, but clearly we don't have it to spare given our National Debt.

And to top that off, they've been at it for forty years, and haven't shown any success at all - it's no secret that people in prison can get drugs, so obviously we aren't stopping anyone.

I don't care what other countries do. I'd like mine to give up on it.

If they thought they could stop guys from growing their own maybe, they might, legalize it. Otherwise I agree with J, there is too much money to be made. If a city needs extra funds start writing speeding tickets.
Where would the money for covert ops come from?

Its not a matter of mind control. do you realize that the war on drugs makes the government VAST amounts of money? They bust you with a joint... charge you with possession, you pay a fine... think of that multiplied by every single fine they issue for this charge... that equals alot of money for your local government, millions! So no government will push to legalize, the day they do is the day they lose a chunk of change to pay for their tazers.
