3x - y = 4

First the equation of one point slope formula
y = mx + c (general equation)

always try to arrange the given equation like the general equation. basically Isolate y from other values

Add both sides with (y - 4)
3x - y + y - 4 = 4 +y - 4
3x - 4 = y
or y = 3x - 4

Now this equation is similar to y = mx + c with c = -4 and m = 3

so the slope (m) = 3

Slope is like a staircase with stairs.
How big are the stairs?
How tall is the stair and how far does it go forward.
Since x goes 3 times slower than y to make a true statement...
Or do it the standard way...
3x = y + 4
3x - 4 = y
mx - b = y
m = slope
m = 3.
So y goes up 3 times faster than x goes horizontal.

the slope of this equation is 3, because slope intercept form for this equation would be: y=3x-4 (y=mx+b) M equaling the slope and b equaling the y intercept. So it is 3.

3x - y = 4

-y = -3x + 4

y = 3x - 4 from y = mx + b where m = slope

m = 3

see the 3 in front of x, the -1 in front of y? slope is -( 3/-1) = 3. you can learn to read the slope at a glance. see why:

ax + by = c
by = -ax + c
y = (-a/b)x + c/b

-a/b is the slope, c/b is the y-intercept.

3x means 3 times somthing so I put 3x2 which would equal 6 so y=2 because 6-2 is 4!

(I could be wrong,I'm in 8th and I make B average.) xD

the slope is always the number before the "x" in the equation
so in this case, the slope is 3
but since the slope is always a fraction, you add a /1
so the slope is 3/1

i just finished 7th grade so ur in luck.
Equation of a line.Y=ax+b

a=slope
b=y-intercept

for this equation.....

y=4
ax=3x
b=y

slpoe=3/1 and u go up.
y intercept=y
For th graphing part.
you have to start on 0,0 since its y intercept is y.
so you go up 3 on the y axis and one to the right on the x axis positive.
Then u can go up 3 more and over one. just like the step before.

3x - y = 4

-y = -3x + 4

y = 3x + 4

m = 3

y=3x-4
y=3x+(-4)
Comparing with y=mx+c
Slope=m=3
