If my child is in 7th Grade in the USA what Year would he be in in the UK?

How old is your child? In England children born between 1st September and 31st August the following year will be in the same year group at school. I believe that the English school years are one higher than the USA ones, if that makes sense. So 7th grade is Year 8 in England. You are in Year 8 if you turn 13 years old between 1st September and 31st August the following year. As school normally begins about the 4th Spetember, and ends 20 something of July, some kids will be 13 for the whole of Year 8, and some kids will be 12 for the whole of Year 8.

Probably first year of high school.
At least it was when I left for Canada.
