The Bible is the inspired word of God.

Several people have questioned books being left out like the "Book of Judas". The Bible does not contain every book about God ever written. The books selected in it were chosen because they were seen as important historical books, works of wisdom, or prophecy.

Other books written at the time the Bible was canonized did not meet the standard to be included. They did not hold true to Biblical doctrines and truths.

As for the History Channel. It does contain many interesting shows but on the whole they are there to sell movies and DVDs what they show is not the entire truth. Sorry to burst your bubble. I do watch it but I keep in mind that many producers, directors have a bias as well.

God bless you all.

What difference would it make? People today already use the excuse of it being too long & complicated to read it. Can you imagine if every single day was documented? Do you think people would really read it? Even if they did there would always be a new excuse not to believe. Personally I have found it to be a reliable instruction book for life. More so than any other "self-help" book out there. Let me ask you this, if you write your own memoirs are you going to write about every single day our your life? No. Why? Because some days are boring & uneventful. In general, biographies and autobiographies are written around major life events. Why would the Bible be any different? Everything we need to live a happy, successful & productive life is there. Everything we need to know to find God is there.

The bible is a collection of ancient texts selected based on the political climate of the time. Not only is there missing information (i.e. Judas' book didn't make the cut), but issues with translation, and the fact that certain events weren't documented until a couple of hundred years after the fact.

Well, there have been books intentionally taken out (this is referred to as the Apocrypha) by certain popes and kings, but I feel that it's a pretty accurate representation of The Word of God (minus the little grammatical errors during translation).

It doesn't, the Bible is the word of God. More people should read it and live by it.
