Having been raised part of my life by a single parent, I would say it's a case of six one way and half-dozen the other. In either case, the parent also has to earn the money to pay the bills. Women often are taught early about taking care of children- or at least, that's how it used to be. But in some businesses, men find it easier to get higher pay- this despite it being the 21st century.

In either case, there is the question of who is minding the kids while the parent is working- a doubly important issue, with the number of sickos that have been uncovered in positions of trust.

I actually think single Dads have it harder, though there are certainly exceptions.

Men typically don't have a childcare background like so many women do, whether babysitting or families or whatever. They also don't have the support system that women tend to develop, like friends, family, or just the plain female bonding that we experience.
Their men friends are NOT there for them like the sisterhood we have in being females.

I think for the most part, single dads have it the hardest. Moms tend to have that "mommy instinct" and seem to be able handle things much better. But of course there are always exceptions.

Hmmm. This is a very interesting question. Personally, after giving this some thought,I think the problems are equal. It is just as hard for men as it is for we women.
