Don't let people buy you clothes when you aren't there!
Take back the shorts, and exchange them ... or offer to trade with your sister [ hehehehe! ]
When I was 13, my aunt bought my sister and I 10 pairs [ 8 of one design and color, and 2 of one design and color; so only 2 obviously different shorts! ] of
a] lime green, elastic waist, knit, with black and white latticework design
b] pink elastic waist, knit, with light blue and white latticework design.....HIDEOUS!
but that's not all - she also gave us horizontal stripe tops - none of the same colors as the shorts, though!
"But it was such a bargain!" she said.
[ my folks didn't have much money, so she was 'helping', but she didn't buy anyone else those horrid things! I started working immediately thereafter. ]

They're cute for a summertime outing to the beach or pool, or you can wear them more often if you live in a beach/harbor town. You can go ahead and put those in storage after august though...

As long as they aren't those shorts or pants that have writting on the butt. Thats just so stupid. I wouldnt let my mom or daughter wear that.
