It changes from year to year and this year it has to be Albert Pujols. He has no support of any kind around him and he is still putting up great numbers. He always seems to deliver when he has to, to put runs on the board. He is just one great offensive player.

Magglio Ordonez.

I almost said A-rod, but he's got an entire team of fantastic, A-list players around him to help them move ahead.

Ordonez is overlooked way too often for just how much he carries his team.

Reyes. Forget about Wright - he is good but he isn't the Mets' key. Without Reyes, the Mets are just another team.

Who cares whether Bonds is The Man for the Giants? The Giants are going nowhere even with him.

I hate to say it, but the choice here is Bonds even though the Giants are horrible this season. Without him they might be in danger of setting the all-time loss record and they wouldn't draw anyone to see their games.

Ichiro. Without him Seattle would lose 95-100 games every year.
