Be sure to have copies of the police reports, write a letter to your landlord include the lease you signed and highlight the paragraph entitling you to safe enviroment. Also check with the police or law enforcement and determine how many other break ins in your area are reported by other.Include these reports as part of you letter. keep copies of everything and send the letter certified mail If the landlord id aware of the crime rate and is doing nothing to improve the conditions then you may be able to sue. please remember to take alot of photos or video in case they try to sue you or withhold security deposit. Hoope this helps and good luck

If it's that bad there go to the leasing office and talk to someone. If there are not actions taken on their part, take actions in your own hands. You can always ask them how much would it be to buy out the lease. Or find someone who doesn't care about stuff like that and rent the apartment out. Breaking the lease is possible, but I wouldn't want anything on my rental/credit history. If you are going to break the lease make sure you find an apartment that is in a nice area and make sure you'll be able to stay there for a while cause no one is going to want to rent to you with a broken lease. Or they'd charge you too much for a deposit.
Just make sure you read your leasing agreement and try to avoid legal bs.

It is possible, but not likely. What have you done to prevent the breakins. Are you required to park in a particular location that is associated with your lease. How many other car break-ins have there been. Have there also been break-ins to houses/apartments. It might sound strange but your apartment lease and your car are not associated with each other.pp
