Hello,
I am 17 years old and last year was a junior and i loved all my classes and my favorite teacher was mrs Phillips. Wow she was a great teacher who i felt i could to about anything especially since in class we were have these group talks about situations in our life. Is it wrong for me to lik her in a way that i can trust her and i always tell stories about her to like friends and everything. Mopre towards the fact of how intwerwesting her class was and everything. I also would love to be a friend of hers but i dont think that is allowed in school since she was my teacher and all and i dont know how she would feel aout it. I just feel like this colseness to her that i can trust her and all. Ok before you say anything i am straight lol lol. Just wnat to know if anyone feels or has felt this way towards a teacher. I also dont know if its because she talk to me and help me with things i was having issues with things that had happened in the past lets just say i had told her some it

Could it also be because are age closness she is 28 and im 17 not sure if this helps.

Someone asked about if she ever told me some of her personal information yes she did i had told her about what happened with my father and i about his drinking problem and how i didnt get along with him becaus of that after i told her she had told me how she had the same problem with her mom.

i would agree to the first answer. its okay to be friends with a teacher. i mean i havent had a teacher friend friend. but i mean lol. uh... i always wanted to be friends with a teacher and stuff. like i cud trust and stuff. i dono. but uh..yea that never worked out. but still i think thats great! if u cud have a friend with a student than why not a teacher? just think about that. because thats not bad or anything. if ur teacher seems like a gud friend than so be it. hoep i helped and gud luck.

I have felt that way about a teacher before and I never did anything about it because i am female and he was male and teachers can get in trouble for that even if it is a friendship so I knew it would never happen. I thought it would be the end of the world but now I don't really care at all.

Whats wrong with having a teacher friend? NOTHING! teacher friends are cool. You can talk to them about everything. But don't let anyone know. Or you'll be the TEACHERS PET!! you don't want that to happen to you!

Yes it certainly is!! I had one in junior high. I called her mom. We played jokes on her like going in early and turning the classroom180 degrees around!! LOL! She always laughed and knew we meant it well. Me and others looked to her for answers we couldn't or wouldn't get from our parents. Its a sign of a good teacher you feel you can talk to her. Its been about 15 yrs since we talked but I would still like to see how she is. Thanks for the reminder! I need to find and call her again.

There is nothing wrong with being friends with a teacher, easpecially one you admire so much. A lot of ppl keep in touch with their former teachers.
I've had teachers I've felt tremendous respect & friendship for, but never tried to stay in touch w/ any of them before college.

It's great if you've found a Teacher that you are very comfortable with! Maybe you could let her know how much you admire her, and how comfortable you are around her, and she could be a mentor for you. That way, you can stay in contact with her and continue to grow!

i have never felt this way but if i wear u i would feel the same way but don't try to be friend just think of her as the best teacher

hey yah! why not make close friends to her? u know am a grauating student in college, i have a lots of close friends since am in freshmen,, its not bad or wrong to make friends with the teachers!!! and u cant control urself if u wanna love to make friends with him/her ayt? so no probs to make friend with the teacher with me. i will just say to you that dont give ur trust too much with her, dont expect too much with her/him too, coz i doubt that ur not exempted in the quizes, exams, proj and etc..!

the fact you told her of your personal life is why you feel close to her, did she share her personal life with you in the same manner? if she didn't , then she probably doesn't feel about you like you feel about her.there is only kinship from your side , not hers. that's what happens when you open up to someone, you feel closer to them. it should be reciprocated and if it isn't , then they are just being kind and that's as far as they want to take it.

Mrs. Phillips sounds like she was a wonderful teacher!!! Learn from her, how she was so attentive and listened to her students!
She taught you not only what you need to know from curriculum but also from her own real experience!
