Christians:
1. Live to serve God and others.
2. Love their neighbors as themselves.
3. Minister to the less fortunate.

Republicans:
1. Insist on tax breaks so the rich can hoard their wealth and the poor can never escape the cycle of poverty.
2. Ignore the scientific community's warnings about Global Warming, therefore letting the earth's problems get worse and worse...it's the It-Won't-Happen-To-Me-I'm-Me attitude. They continue to buy SUV's, not caring if their excess exhaust pollutes the air and water.
3. Elect the idiotic George W. Bush for the SECOND time, after knowing full well what a moron he is, just because they were afraid that Kerry would force them to pay taxes the government could use for services to benefit everyone, including rich and poor people.
4. Believe in trickle-down economics, when it obviously doesn't work, since CEO's are raking in millions when the janitors can barely support a family.

Choose one...Christian or Republican...not both.

All Christians are not what you say. My local Baptists, lie, cheat on their wives and steal. When they leave their church, they cross the county line to the open Bar.
All Republicans did not elect Bush, many Dem's voted for him. Trickle down economics has worked for centuries. You are better off then ever. Sorry about the janitor, get educated and get a better job.
All Christians do what you say they do?
All Republicans do what you say they do?
You know all Christians? You know all Republicans?
I am not sure if you are stupid, deluded or naive.

Under Christian heading:
#1. I am a Christian but I don't live to serve god, I live to serve my family and friends and all others that have a positive effect upon my life.

#2. Not everyone is lovable

#3. I give to charity when I can, and I have helped many friends and family members during tough times, but I do not agree with forced charity (i.e. wealth redistribution). I should be able to choose whom I help, not the government.

Under republican heading:
#1 is untrue. Giving tax breaks helps the economy, which in turn helps everyone. Since people have more money to invest or spend, possibly starting new businesses, which in turn creates more jobs.

#2 Global warming is happening, but it's a NATURAL CYCLE of the earth. We may have a very very very small part in it, but not enough to make any impact. If it is all man made, then why is Mars also having a similar warming trend? Answer, because of the sun genius! If liberals are so serious about global warming, maybe these rich hollywood liberals and elitist politicians that champion global warming should stop using private jets and limos, hmmm.... Also stop eating meat, pretty much stop the entire modern society and move back into mud huts. That should solve the problem.

#3. Government isn't the solution to our problems, government IS the problem. We need less government, less gov spending and less taxes. In fact our economy is doing great because of Bush's tax cuts. We have very low unemployment, record highs in the stock market and a lot of federal revenue coming in. Besides, Bush was elected by the majority of this country, don't like it, move.

#4. Taxing businesses and corporations just gets passed onto the consumer. May as well have that money reinvested into the company or invested into something else by individuals. Do you really think a lowly janitor deserves the kind of money a CEO makes? A janitor is easily replaced and contributes very little. While a CEO RUNS the business, keeps it from going under, probably has a stress level 10000x's that of a janitor and has to be very intelligent and cunning. If that CEO fails at his job, guess what, that janitor along with possibly thousands of other workers may be seeking new employment. While I'm no expert on trickle down economics, do you really believe the janitor is going to make tens of thousands of dollars more per year because of it? Doubtful, people usually get paid for the difficulty of the job and how hard it is to replace them. Also considering, the surplus a company has, may have to be distrubuted amongst hundreds of thousands of employees.

I am both whether you like it or not!

BTW 'atvacron', our founding fathers were CLASSICAL LIBERALS, which is the equivalent of modern day LIBERTARIANS not the slack jawed liberals of today. Modern day liberals are closer to socialists.

Democrats have a religion. It is called leftism. It is Marxism disguised and it is anti-Christian. You are simply too young to realize it.
Taking money from one person to give to someone that votes for you is immoral. Don't you remember reading about stealing. Coveting people's money and things is also immoral and there is a reason all great religions consider it very bad to steal. Taxing is one thing but we fought the Revolutionary war over a couple percent tax and Churches take only 10 percent. Governments take up to 50 percent and more. What is your limit to taking from people you don't like?

Your style of mixed up. Abortion is homicide and Jesus did talk approximately it. you're saying how can Christian be a Republican? because of the fact we are against murdering toddlers extraordinarily people who're taken from the mummy in very previous due term. however the Democrats are no longer purely for that yet they want the toddler killed if by twist of destiny they stay on the abortion. it particularly is merely undeniable homicide and is interior the bible. additionally the Democrats are nevertheless attempting to eliminate any factor that pertains to God or the bible, alongside with removing the words "in God we believe" from our funds however the Republicans stopped it. The Democrats are FOR gay marriage however the Republicans are against it. To rephrase your question...How can any real Christian probable vote for a Democrat.

Actually, it is impossible to be a Christian and a Democrat at the same time. Democrats believe in

1) Abortion. Killing is wrong.
2) Global Warming. The bible tells us how humanity is going to end, and it isn't by the weather.
3) More concerned in animal rights then human rights. God told Adam to reign over the animals of the world, not the other way around.
4) Welfare for everyone, no matter how hard they do or don't work. God said trust in him, he didn't say beg and plead to the government for every little thing.
5) Believe we should pull out of Iraq, which would leave the Iraqi civilians without anyone to protect them. That is like signing them up to be killed, and also another thing the bible is against.
6) For gay rights, and the bible is against homosexuality and says that it is from Satan.

Sorry Lil Miss Atheist I am Both and your little diatribe hate rant isnt going to change that

Tax breaks sorry to say were for everyone including those who DIDNT PAY TAXES and that is a little thing called welfare talk about helping poverty We minister to them and show them the way out we dont give them things to keep them in poverty. We believe people can make it without handouts

Scientific Community you mean the one who says God did not create the earth. That scientific community hmm. Or the fact that those so called enviromentalist say nothing about the fact that burning coal is alot more harmful then driving an SUV. These same people wont even discuss the cleanest most efficent option, nuclear.

Electing Bush no most Christians didnt elect Kerry a big difference as when you talk to most Republicans it was more of a vote against the other guy as I am sure it was for most secular progressive Dems like yourself.

Trickle down economics most assuredly works and as for janitors that isnt meant to be a career its a stepping stone job and one should not be supporting or having a family and working as a janitor

You secular progressives make me laugh with your lil attacks on traditionalist

I am a Christian and a Republican or at least a conservative
So sorry miss liberal dem you are wrong

Well... I think you're making some broad generalizations that may not help much in making decisions that suit you. Maybe a fresh approach will help, starting with the separation of Church and State, as outlined in Article VI of the Constitution:
"... but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

Using religion to make political choices isn't really too helpful because no political party has a monopoly on religion, morals or integrity (and they are separate values). Although The Republican party has embraced the far right wing Christian Coalitions to bolster their political base, God probably had nothing to say in the matter! So try the following instead:
-- make a list of issues important to you and prioritize it. Most likely no single politician will represent your views entirely
-- research the candidates qualification, voting history, positions on issues important to you, and who's behind their money
-- maintain your integrity and vote your conscience
~~Cheers!

Religion & Politics don't go together! There are many fine Christians that are Republican, neither party has a claim on being more Christian than the other!
Claiming to be Christian doesn't make you a good one, you are known by your deeds. Not all Republicans, just as not all rich people are uncareing about the needs of others. Thats a pretty wide swath you are painting when you consider how many Republicans there are in this country!

1. The rich pay FAR more of a percentage in taxes than do the poor. The top 5% of taxpayers pay 40% of our nations taxes! Simple communistic class-warfare is what you spew, but your not fooling anyone.

2. The scientific community has no consensus on global warming. The earth is cooler today than in the time of Christ.

3. It wasn't Republicans that elected GW twice like your question suggests. It was the American people, get it straight.

4. Nobody in America is starving. We have a great economy. We have LOW unemployment and the highest home ownership rates in American history. Your communist "doom & gloom" is just propaganda!

You also fail to mention the communists in the DNC. Outright socialism is the literal mainstream democrat platform. From health care, to gun control, to mandated formats on radio, speech codes, abortion, euthanasia, EVERYTHING! The democrat platform is really the communist platform. If it looks and smells like communism, well...

The now declassified Venona Cables don't just suggest that Soviet spies had infiltrated the American left; they prove it! Alger Hiss, a now proven Soviet spy was at the Yalta conference advising Roosevelt on Eastern Europe. -No wonder Stalin got such a sweetheart deal. His man was Roosevelt's top advisor!

From then right through to Clinton's red Chinese support, to Kerry being honored in the north VC communist museum for his support during Vietnam we see that it is the Democrats who are willing to squander our national inheritance, our freedom itself to those who run the gulags.

Christian=Republican...at least for the nut job religions. They are like the Taliban in that they want their religious laws forced on the entire population. Plus, I've never met a Republican guy I would ever want to date. They are all pretty much *ssholes.

1) So 1% of the population paying 1/3 of the federal income tax is a tax break? Oooookay!
http://www.cbpp.org/4-16-02tax.htm
2) Polar ice caps are melting on Mars, are there any SUVs up there or did the Mars Rover cause global warming up there to?
3) Put a decent candidate up on the Democratic ticket and maybe we'd vote for them. I'd have voted for a sack of spuds before I voted for Kerry.
4) Trickle down economics doesn't work? Really? Is that why the Dow Jones just hit 14,000 friday and has hit record highs over 30 times this year? You must not be a business major am I right?
