LMAO @ Bernie Kosar....We laugh, but if he was available they'd probably sign him because they have no veteran to groom these three young quarterbacks. The three in competition for the job are:
Derek Anderson - He has shown some some good things in limited action. But he may not be ready to run an offense.
Charlie Frye - The incumbent starter. I know they say numbers don't lie, but in Frye's case they do. He didn't put up great "fantasy football" numbers, but when you look at the situations around him - an injury depleted offensive line, injuries at the skill positions (for once KW2 stayed healthy), an underwhelming running game - he held his own. He should be the starter this season because he didn't LOSE his starting job.
Brady Quinn - Of the three quarterbacks he's probably the least ready to start. But with the pressure thats on Crennel this year, I wouldnt be surprised to see him by Week 6 if the Brownies dont get off to a good start. Quinn is really about a year away from starting. It's not wise to start a rookie quarterback while installing a new offense on a rebuilding team. But wisdom doesn't sell tickets either.
Charlie Frye will be the Week 1 starter, but they'll probably go to Quinn by mid season if the ship is sinking.

At the moment, it appears that Derek Anderson has the advantage. This isn't good news for the Browns, because if Anderson starts, it means that the team has lost all confidence in Quinn and Frye and is willing to go with a guy who couldn't beat out Kordell Stewart for a job with Baltimore the other year.
If Anderson starts, it definitely won't be because he's earned the job. It'll be because the other players are so bad that he won it by default.

I think Anderson by default. I don't see them going back to Frye. The Browns have this pattern of "What's next?" rather than going back down the list of previous solutions. Although, I did love the response of "Bernie Kosar." LOL

Looking like Derek Anderson right know but training camp has yet to start....If Brady holds out to long I doubt he'll get any serious playing time this preseason...
