hey guys, im in the middle of attmepting a novel (first one), wrote quite a bit already, but need a name for my main 'bad guy' - this guy is the personification of evil, a true bad apple. I have been floating around with old words for 'evil' or 'satan' - such as Ubils, also Diabolos is one I liked (old greek word) also Iblis which I belive is a islamic name for the devil.

Any suggestions - also, you never know I may end up getting published and youre suggestion will be a main character.!!!!!!

Thanks in advance.

Here's a possible name to play with. He's described as the wickedest man in the world and was certainly influential in satanism in the early 20th century.
Possibly link your character to him by name or use his original name in some way, he certainly invokes dark thoughts

You want meaningless ones or meaningful?
For the former, how about Gromere (GRO-MAIR), Khalij, Khilij, Amron, Sasha, Sashar, Zayenor (Zah-yen-or), Hadrius (hay-dree-us), Shazadh(Shah-zaadh), Jotham(Joe-thum) Jazium (Juh-zee-um), Itzasha, Hamron, Nimrod, Belthashar, Carzon, Kharasak, Jarlen, Vodravane, Frados (Fray-dus), Bremiot, Krom, Jerania, etc
As for the latter, how about Malefizo, Dravenion, Diablast, Noceno, Torvenus\Trovenus, Khadrak(khah-dhrek), Pravus/Pravion, Mordres, Letum (lee-tem), Mortindo, Morcerak, Muerarsk. Amodio, Asmodus, Krim, McGrail (a nice surname)

As for the villain, I think it would be better if the villain is devilishly handsome, sexy AND downright bad and then he falls in love with an enemy... but doesn't ever redeem...
You know, this kinda thing attracts attention. It wont do if the villain is a classic villain. Trust me. For more help contact me.

Try thinking of something that is usually thought of as bad then add, take and/or change a letter or two. For example Chaos could be changed to Chaostis, Chao or Chaotix
Or take two words with an evil meaning and make a hybrid out of the two. For example the all fearful Praying Mantis (If your and an inch tall) and Necromancy could be Necromantis the giant undead Praying Mantis

Hi there Mark, How about...Machiavel?
Machiavellianism is primarily the term some social and personality psychologists use to describe a person's tendency to deceive and manipulate others for personal gain. The concept is named after the writer, Niccolo Machiavelli.
Some scholars and researchers have attempted to find a correlation between Machiavellianism and narcissistic personality disorder and psychopathy. It could be understood that psychopaths and sociopaths have a similar disposition that could be identified with Machiavellianism, for sociopaths are known for manipulation and cunning. Psychopaths, however, generally have difficulty realising or understanding the concepts of right and wrong, and tend not to have much regard for consequences.

It is one of my goals to write a novel. Good luck, let me know how you get on :o)

I think that you should name your main evil character Opiccoles, an evil creature that looks like a normal elf, but if you tick him off, it turns into a big, gigantic dragon god w/ golden gauntlets and a gold robe that if you look in his eyes, he'll turn you into his own slaves of torment.
