No, I hold my ground, and yes I do accept responsibility for my actions,,,but will not accept any blame for nothing that is not my fault,,,

Never. It is unethical and disrespectful to both parties.
Because if somebody apologises to me when innocent it would only confuse me, especially if the person insisted that he/she was not guilty and then gave in for the sake of peace and suddenly apologised.
In all honesty, a situation like this should never come up between any two people who love and respect each other. A good relationship is built on a foundation of trust.
Apologising for something that isn't your fault is being dishonest, even if it is by taking the blame for the sake of peace.

I do for the sake of stopping an argument. But it really depends on what it is. If it's at work, i'll generally take it on the chin.

If its a friend/family thing, i'll tell them when i'm not in the wrong.

(*chuckle*) Well, I've learned the art of the non-apology..my favorite is: If I've in some way offended you, then I sincerely apologize.

I only apologize if I've done or said something which merits me apologizing. I won't apologize to stop an argument, I just don't argue.

No, and I won't apologize for something that I don't consider wrong, either.

Never if it's something serious, but a petty little problem perhaps you can give in a little bit.
