At a local Amusement park their policy is that men must take out their keys and get screened with a security wand. Females are allowed to enter without being screened and no purse check either. More info: There is a female guard at the gate. So the excuse of can't screen women is out. Is it illegal to screen men only?

Yes and no. Private security can screen people how they see fit; according to the insturctions of the owners. Although, it is stupid of the security to only screen the men; women are usually more dangerous than men in a fight. The women can also carry weapons past security for others to use later.
The reason why the men are screened and the women are not boils down to who causes the most problems for security. Nine times out of ten, the men get thrown out instead of the women.
