Hi This is for my Chemistry Lab 5C follow up questions, it goes

1. In some industrial processes, solutions have impurities removed by single replacement reactions. In electrolytic zinc processes, for instance, impurities of cadmium in the form of CdSO4 are removed from the electrolyte by the addition of zinc dust. Write a balanced equation for this reaction.
2. Write the balanced equation for the electrolysis of water. What type of reaction is this?

Thanks in advance

Since the zinc is more active than the Cd, it will replace (single replacement) the Cd in the sulfate and Cd will precipitate.

The electrolysis of water is a decomposition. Water becomes oxygen and hydrogen.

You should be able to do the balanced equations for the reactions described

It relies upon on your particular style in instructions. in case you're extra math/technological know-how person, chemistry may be the extra beneficial %., as many calculations, equations, and so on are required. in case you're extra English/Literature oriented, Biology may be the extra beneficial guess. i've got consistently found Chemistry to be extra relaxing, yet i'm a Chemistry substantial, so the alternative is biased
