I BELIEVE as well as FEEL that once a person reaches a certain age then YES they should be required to retake a driving test in order to renew their license. I don't really have a set age in mind But I'll throw out when they reach the age of 65. I really don't want to pick on the elderly, BUT now a days I see all so many elderly people driving and they are MORE of a hazard than anything else. BUT if you ask them about their driving abilities they'll tell you, OH, I am such a good driver. Mostly because they do NOT speed. This may be, BUT they are also NOT paying attention to anything else either.

I'd say around age 65 or so, and maybe after a certain amount of violations. They shouldn't do it for everyone though, the license bureau doesn't have that kind of time. It took me 3 hrs and 20 minutes to get a renewed license a few weeks ago. Thank god it's only every 4 yrs.

In California, the DMV is already clogged. The thought of every body renewing in person is ludicrous. However, people with some set number of violatiions and anybody under 25 or over 70 should have to renew more often.

i think of that interior the 1st 10-15 years after receiving a liscense, people might strengthen into extra advantageous drivers with adventure. i might think of even on the age of fifty some drivers could be required to take a using attempt, merely because of the fact eyesight, listening to, or wellbeing problems must be unfavourable to their using ability. After that, i in my view have faith that each and each 5 years older drivers could retake the attempt. I see way too many old people in the back of the wheel that could desire to no longer be, and that i've got faith this might purely be safer for them and different drivers on the line.

I agree that they should be required maybe every 5 years or so. It seems like many people forget what they learned as teens, also this is a good way to keep old people from driving once they can no longer safely do so.
