The night before I get on the train for my trip to Glacier my mom takes me to the emergency room and it turns out that I have pneumonia and can't go. I am pissed off I spent a ton of money on new stuff (new tent, new backpack, new boots, etc...), which all tolled must be over $700. Plus the ticket for the train was like $200.

Well, what really annoys me is that I have been one of the main figures in planning for months. It was ironically my first big backpacking trip, and I was going with like 3 other friends, so yeah I could still go later, but they probably wouldn't come too...
I'm keeping the gear (I needed new stuff anyway) but I did overextend my self on that more so than I would if I had had more time.

That bites... I feel sorry for you... It happens to all of us at one time or another, but the way I see it, it happened for a reason this time around. Plan a different trip somewhere else so you can still get to use your gear, and your friends will probably still come along. Get better!

Glacier National Park? You poor kid. I'd be upset too. Stay in bed, let your mom pamper you and get well soon. Hopefully, you can schedule the trip again when you're feeling better. And while you're home, you can break in those new hiking boots.
Here's some chicken soup -- inhale the steam and drink the broth. You'll feel better.

My dad had pneumonia a couple months ago, he ended up staying in the hospital for a little over a week I think. I hope you get better!!!

I have had pneumonia twice , so I know how you feel. I hope you saved the receipts for all your camping stuff, Have someone return it and get your money refunded. Get well soon.
