Unfortunately they did. The only way the McCanns are naive is if they actually believe that is true.

What? The mcCanns NAIVE, who are they trying to kid? With their professions and intelligence you would have thought they could have come up with a better explanation than that for their daughter going missing, or rephrased what they said.
God, how can 2 professional adults with 3 young children say "at worst we were naive" .
What else have these children been through with their naivety, scolding hot baths, forgetting to feed them, or just forgetting that they had 3 children when they were abroad on holiday.

Probably - I find naive to be a better word if you are first time parents and slightly less educated though. And NO I am not anti McCann I just hate that statement!

Yes, they did. And at last, I'm glad to see that back here in this country they are going to answer to an enquiry about leaving their children on their own. I said all along, if they were a couple from a run-down council estate they would have had their remaining children taken off them by now, but no, because they are supposedly 'itelligent' people, all they are going to have is a few questions. I'm sorry they lost their child. I'm sorry for the little girl - but these very people that are suppose to protect her let her down and badly too and now must face the consequences

They did say it.

Pretty shocking isn't it? Naive is thinking you could go on holiday with 3 kids under 4 and get nights out alone. Ignortant and stupid is actually leaving them alone to get a night out.

Yes he absolutely said that. That is the closest he has ever come to shouldering any sort of blame. He also likened the distance from the restaurant to the apartment as 'like eating in your back garden'. They also used the analogy of losing Madeleine to 'going overdrawn in your bank account'

Yes but I think naive is a too polite way of putting it. They should have said "we were 100% in the wrong for neglecting our small children and it should never have happened".

perhaps Mr McCann meant to say, "Neglectful". After all, he made a mistake with his own daughter's name in another interview.

yes they said it. Hard to believe two doctors claiming to be "naive" when it comes to their own childrens safety. They must think the public is naive.
