I would be better if you had said "lady friend"
I am in contact with half a dozen women who were friends of various levels in various places before I was married the first time, during my first marriage through my wife and after when I was single before I married again. Among the women are various relationships from girl friend to casual sex partner to social friend and most of them are married.
So why did you contact her?

Of course it's bad, but I think you already know that. What was the point in contacting her? And don't say "friendship". That's what your guy friends are for. Those are the ones you hang out with. Having an old girlfriend for a "friend" just means that you never really got over her and you want to see if she feels the same way. If you're honest with yourself, you'll admit that's exactly what you're doing. I feel bad for your wife. How about having a "friendship" with her instead?

Does your wife know? If you are keeping it a secret, then yes that is bad. It is important to be honest in a marriage. Only your wife can tell you if it is bad or not. I personally, would not appreciate my husband contacting an old girlfriend for any reason whatsoever. She is your ex (meaning that she is xed out of your life). Find new friends. You can find long distance friendships online. Good luck!

YES IT IS!!! If there used to be romantic feelings involved then it's really not fair to your wife. And why would you want to have a long distance friendship w/ an ex-girlfriend anyway???
How would you feel if the tables were turned and your wife wanted to start a friendship with an ex-boyfriend??? Think about it!

Yes very bad. Just think if your wife would get in contact with one of her exes. Would you think it wrong of her? Especially if she wanted a long distance friendship with him. Your an adult man. You know better. You knew what you were doing and the whys. Now your just looking for some way of easing your conscious of what you know to be wrong.

would you like it if your wife went out for lunch with an old boyfriend just for a noontime friendship??
your question should be why did you feel the need to contact someone for a long distance relationship and more specifically why contact this particular person.
you should tell your wife about it.

Yes it is.
I've been married for almost 8 years and all married people go thru that; In the beginning mostly.
But yes, you are married and how would you like your wife talking to or emailing one of the guys she use to have sex with? Not a nice picture is it?
So cut it out, be a man, and behave like the great man your wonderful wife married.

Yeah how would you like it if she contacted one of her old bf to just have an long distance friendship....I dont think your wife would like it.
