What you do is put 70=10(5y+2) on your paper then you do this as shown below

70=10(5y+2)
70=10 times (multiplication sign) 5y and you get 50 then write 10 times 2 and you get 20 as shown here so to speak
70=10(5y)(2)
70=50y+20
-20 -20
you get
50 and the positive 2 and negative 2 cancels out.
then you divie 50 on both sides
70/50 50y/50 the last one cancels out and you get 1=Y good luck and i hope that it helped.

70 = 10 (5y + 2)
divide both sides by 10
70/10 = 10 (5y + 2)/10
7 = 5y + 2
add (-2) on both sides
7 - 2 = 5y + 2 - 2
5 = 5y
divide both sides with 5
5/5 = 5y/5
1 = y

so y = 1

70 = 10(5y + 2)
multiply the right side by 10
70 = 50y + 20
subtract 20 from both sides
50 = 50y
divide both sides by 50
y = 1
