What you do is put 70=10(5y+2) on your paper then you do this as shown below
70=10(5y+2)
70=10 times (multiplication sign) 5y and you get 50 then write 10 times 2 and you get 20 as shown here so to speak
70=10(5y)(2)
70=50y+20
-20 -20
you get
50 and the positive 2 and negative 2 cancels out.
then you divie 50 on both sides
