The classes of employee exempt from overtime are executive, administrative, professional and outside sales employees (may vary from state to state). As a manager of a store, I believe you would be classified as an executive employee:
"To qualify for the executive employee exemption, all of the following tests must be met:
The employee must be compensated on a salary basis (as defined in the regulations) at a rate not less than $455 per week;
The employee’s primary duty must be managing the enterprise, or managing a customarily recognized department or subdivision of the enterprise;
The employee must customarily and regularly direct the work of at least two or more other full-time employees or their equivalent; and
The employee must have the authority to hire or fire other employees, or the employee’s suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other change of status of other employees must be given particular weight. "

Exempt employees are typically not entitled to receive overtime pay. If you work for a large company, such matters will be covered in your personnel manual. Read it. It is your equivalent to a contract. If it says exempt personnel are entitled to overtime pay, then you are. If it says that you may have "comp time", they you will have comp time to compensate you for your additional time at work.

Most salaried employees are exempt and not elligible for overtime. Depends on your title. As a manger, you are probably not entitled to overtime.

If you are on a monthly salary status, YES, you are entitled for OT pay. But first you must complete a 40 hrs work ( 8 hrs. per day Monday to Friday) in excess to that is already OT
