Starting a small business question?

I want to start a busines where i would help people with disablites and people who have been convicted get jobs ,what resources should i look first , Shoud it be with the court systems or should i conduct a study on it first?

Check with the court to see if there is a chance to do it,then study up on it . They should be able to give you some tips. You are an Angel,to want to do this!

1st things 1st....you need a degree in this field. No matter what promises you promise the general public, they (the public and govnt.) won't take you seriously. You'll have a very hard time getting funded without that sheeps skin under your belt.

Once that is established, try the SBA (Small Business Administration), local politicians, courts, attorneys, and other business in your area.

You need to contact the the "F's" as well. these are family, friends, and fools. I know it sounds bitter, but it is a very unique way to stay on top of the competition.

There "Angel Vendors" as well. These are local business who will donate to your cause without you paying them back (basically a sponsorship)

I think you should talk to Social Services in your area.
Find out what qualifications you'd need to be approved.
Doing this as a volunteer is a good way to start.
You may even find organizations that will pay you.

Are you sure you want to start a business that does not make you any money. If making money is not your main goal then simply volunteer, work for a non-profit or get a government job.

If you are trying to get funding, go to grants.gov. Once you have established a nonprofit organization, you will have a number of funding opportunites from the government.
