I think Cujo being back on the Leafs is great for them IF he was in a backup/mentor capacity. If their young goalie was going to be the starter and Cujo was there to help him out, give pointers, etc. He is older and I think his days as a #1 are over, but he's still a GREAT backup to have and has a lot to teach.

I'm a leafs fan and although I loved Cujo when he was with them, I disagree with most of you guys. Even if they trade Raycroft, it would still be a bad idea to replace him. They got Toskala who'll prove to be a starter and Raycroft as a backup. If they get rid of Raycroft(which I hope they do), then they'll have Clemmensen(who they recently signed) as their back-up. No matter what, Cujo would be a waste of money. He's getting old anyway.

I was hoping that maybe Jay Feaster would be completely out if the ordinary and sign cujo; he would have been perfect to back up Holmqvist. I say good for him. I'm always happy for a guy who returns to a former team.
What's stopping cujo from pulling an Eddy Belfour?

I don't know you guys... Raycroft isn't a star goalie, but he could be pretty good with the right coaches.
I'm just worried that if they trade Raycroft away to sign Cujo, he's going to end up retiring in a year. Then who do the Leafs have left to backup Toskala?
I'd like to see Toskala and Raycroft sort of battle for the starting position. Whoever said competition is a bad thing?
Look at a few teams with 2 "starting" goalies (or atleast 2 good goalies)....
- Anaheim Ducks (gigeure/bryzgalov)
- Minnesota Wild in 06/07 (harding/backstrom/fernandez)
- Nashville in 06/07(mason/vokoun)
Ok you guys get the idea :)

The biggest issue is that is Cujo would be a step backwards. I'm looking forward to the future which will include World Junior Goalie Pogge.

I think the leafs should be looking to rebuild and get much younger. Cujo's best seasons are behind him, although he is still a solid goaltender. He will not be enough to put Toronto over the top this season.

The leafs arent my fav team, but i will back them up and cheer for them because i live in the toronto area... and i think if they can trade Raycroft away and bring Cujo back to town, then by all means DO IT!!
Cujo was great with the leafs, and they actually made the playoffs with him in net, please toronto, bring him back!

I do, because cujo played his best hockey in Toronto. Thats my opinion. The Leafs should have resigned him to a better contract. Instead he went to Detroit and still didnt win the cup. In Toronto he had the chance to win it because he played his best hockey. Of course we want cujo playing for the leafs again!

Not I. He's a traitor. After the Leafs had a half-descent season (I think they made it to semi-finals), Cujo jumped ship and went to the Red Wings. I never liked him ever since. He is now "Joe-Sieve" to me.
