I have HAD to have one because of suspected IBS and they had to rule out other problems. It certainly wasn't a comfortable experience BUT I felt really great when they came back and said everything looked good. People avoid these typed of tests and allot of colon cancer doesn't get detected until too late, because of our idea of these types of tests. I am actually glad I had one.
Best wishes!

If you are over 40 and smart you will!!! Colonoscopies save many from colon cancer. If you have a family history of Crohn's/Ulcerative Colitis you will, if you're smart. My sister has Crohn's and has had two life threatening infections, both with long hospital stays. I'm not sure if your question's supposed to be funny or something but colonoscopies are excellent diagnostic tools that SAVE LIVES.

Everyone should have a colonoscopy at 40!! Then every 5-10 years according to your family history. Who cares if Bush has one? Nobody wants to die of colon cancer.

In human beings over the age of fifty, this is counseled to have this technique each and every 5 to 10 years. invoice had his 2nd with the silver bullet too as did all our Presidents over the final 30 years or so. clever human beings have the technique executed to guard from maximum cancers. Why do you think of girls get Pap's and Mammograms?? Its no longer for the relaxing of it, its to locate and hit upon available maximum cancers early.

I have had several - I have had polyps removed (not malignant) and I will soon go back and schedule another one.
Colon cancer is a nasty way to die, and it is easily prevented. Getting taken out by a bus or a jealous husband would be one thing - but colon cancer? Not if I can do something to prevent it. If it keeps me alive, they can stick a marching band up there.

Not unless I absolutely have to!
My mother has Crohn's disease and has to go in for one every four years. She hates them. At least she got put asleep for hers. My grandfather had one once and they kept him awake. YUCK!

Only if it was medically necessary. Can't say I'd do it for fun.
