My mother-in-law is the perfect in-law. The first time we met (I was the first 'girl' my now husband had ever brought home, and I was 46 at the time, he was 39) she asked how my parents were. I told her I'd lost contact with my step-dad, and my mom had died when I was 29. She put her arms around me and said 'Well, you've got a mother, now, then.' Later, she admitted she'd put on a skirt to impress me ... I told her I'd done the same. Then even later, she said she was so glad that Neal had finally found a woman who could 'dress him properly' since she had been biting her tongue for years because he was so 'sloppy' ... I laughed, and he looked at her, stunned ... she didn't know it, but he'd been 'dressing up' when he saw her! I told her that no man could 'properly dress himself' and we both laughed at how 'true' that was. Yes, I think that MY mother -in-law is the BEST in the world ... but she did raise the BEST MAN IN THE WORLD, so I'm not at all surprised.

Someone pleasant who doesn't try to control our relationship but instead is supportive and is enjoyable to be around. I'm not that difficult and am always eager to get a long with the in laws for the sake of the relationshp, unfortunately - the mother in law always has some weird complex.

"Perfect" in-laws in apostrophe.....well.....
I do not have any in-laws but my mother is an in-law.

She is fine being one. She does not interfere in the upbringing of her grandchildren. She does care but does not interfere unless asked for advice.
She does not bad-mouthed her daughters-in-law like other in-laws, who would complain endlessly in the marketplace.
She does all the housework without any complaint and everyone would find food on the table when they return from work.
She does not (never) ask for any money from anyone. She is not rich at all though but she knows how to suffice and compromise on many things.

That is what I would call a ''perfect'' in-law.
--------long live my mother---------

I would not change my mother-in-law for anything in this world. She is the most loving, caring and giving person that I know. She does not interfere, like most do. She and I have a better relationship that I have with my own mother.

In-laws that were able to take very good care of their daughter and raised her to be good. Unselfish enough to have spent time with her, and to let her grow emotionally.
