i have a highs speed arris modem packaged with the wow service, from the modem it goes to the uplink in my linksys switch from there i split it off to a wireless unit (sends the connection to my laptops) the other cable goes to my computer and the last one goes to the xbox 360 but i can only get internet on the laptops any ideas as to why.

Well, I can take a guess at this. If you really have a modem and not a router you can only get ONE IP. The reason your laptops are working is because the wireless unit is probably a router and is issuing private IPs to the laptops and sending them routed properly. If it has the IP from the modem then nothing else will work.

You said you had a switch connected to the modem you really need a router at that point if you want everything to work.
