Many people claim to love freedom and love independence from government but I want to know:

Do you all really want to take care of yourselves or do you want a government to provide everything for you and make all of your choices?

I think this is a no brainer individual freedom. According to lockean contract the govt. job is protect our life, liberty and property. I think the founding fathers were correct to make this country a republic because democracy = mob rule. There are plenty of solutions to get govt. out of our lives.

I would like to have my freedom but with the government stopping the criminals from infringing on my rights. I want both government in moderation and individual freedom as long as I don't hurt anyone.

Individual freedom over mob rule any day, history has shown us what a small mob that is angry and blames another group of people for their troubles and that would be the Nazis.

Mob rule! Mob rule! "Individual freedom" is a euphemism for "corporate freedom" and the increased enslavement of the people as a result.

Look who's controlling the elections! Did we vote on who the "frontrunners" are? Did WE ask that they get Hillary,Obama, and Edwards get the majority speaking time in the debates over everyone else? NOOO, corporations determined that! Let us (the mob) decide for once!!!! I assure you, the "frontrunners" for president will look and sound VERY different from the jokes we have now!

To Mary B: Thanks for being the only one here with a brain to recognize that mob rule is not government rule. What we have now is government/corporate rule. One pays the other to make the rules.

I'd rather not have a group of men and women that decide what is right and what is wrong for me. It's like 'God' all over again (no offense).

What I'd want is more of a community where 'the people' have a real choice of the essentials instead of what pleases the entire country.

no, let's have it like New Orleans after Katrina when all gov't broke down. It was like Mad Max meets Waterworld. Sad fact... people cannot behave without gov't. Society breaks down to the law of the jungle within days without gov't.

Anyone who would choose to have the government do everything for them doesn't deserve the right to vote.
