5x(3+4.2)+7 and I'm guessing you are just simplifying the equation

1. distribute 5x into parenthesis

15x+21x+7

2. combine like terms

36x+7 --> --> --> YOUR ANSWER!

Here's the answer.

5x(3+4.2)+7 --> Write the problem.
5x(7.2)+7 --> Add 3 and 4.2.
36x+7 Multiply 5x and 7.2

So the answer is 36x+7.

I'll assume that we are solving for 'x' and the above equation is set equal to zero? If so then your answer is...

5x(3+4.2) +7 = 0
36x +7 = 0
36x = -7
x = -7/36

How anyone got 43 I don't know. You can't combine unlike terms.
