Several Sub-atomic particles are known to travel faster than light, first one that comes to mind is Tachyons (or however you spell it =P ).

Also, me on the way to dinner can be pretty quick, he he.

Unless they find gravity "waves" or "gravitons", gravity could be a non-temporal field, which means it becomes and underlying reality or fabric of space-time...in other words, it would have no speed, or the same speed as your carpet (which is no speed...it just "is").

The speed of thought is faster than light, so is the speed of closure (the distance between two objects shrinking by faster than the speed of light because the two objects moving towards each other are moving faster than half the speed of light).

Luminons are etherial particles that seem to punch holes in space-time, moving from point a to b, disappearing, only to "instantaneously" reappear some distance away...as if they moved through space without having to cross it.

Actually, Einstein never said faster than light travel was impossible, he said you could not accelerate something "to" the speed of light, and this only because his equations showed that your length would go to zero and your mass would go to infinite as you reached the speed of light...which would mean it would take an infinite amount of energy to accelerate something with almost no length but infinite mass any faster. It could also mean that his formula breaks down when you get that close and that the speed of light "can" be broken. It will be some time before we get a chance to find out.

The final quirk to the answer is this: "fast" means distance/speed. What if "distance" is relative to your speed? For example, because time slows down when you go very fast (near light speed), objects that you "thought" were lightyears away, suddenly appear light-seconds or minutes away! So, how long is long when what used to be far is no longer far? So, don't count faster than light travel out just yet. Keep an open mind and take a wait and see attitude and you'll seldom go wrong.
