I've just dropped coke on my IBM laptop, only about 3 keys were hit, it was just a tiny bit... I took the keyboard off, cleaned it all up, put it back in and all the keys that i spilt on, work perfectly...

but...

now there are 5 keys ( 5, 6, g, h, ; ) which are no where near were the coke spilt, that are acting funny..

if I press lets say 5, what appears on the screen is g5 if I press 6 I get g6 and so on.. but only with these keys...

does anyone know what has happened and how to fix it?
Thank you in advance!!!!

OK, how long ago did this happen?
If it was a while ago, take your keyboard apart and inspect the board and components. U will find that some wires on components are dissolved. NOW, if that doesn't stop u from consuming the stuff...

If it was recently, take it apart and spray it down (everything) with hot water till the coke is gone. Make sure u don't lose any small parts.
let it dry thoroughly, then put back together. should work fine.

Well this could take a while but you could get a few like cleaning wipes or even diaper wipes and tuck them into your keyboard but if yu want the fast way there is a little slit on every computer. Just press the slit in and that will tae out the keyboard. Then you will be able to clean it with no problem. it will take aproximetly 5 mins.
