My civic will just stop running. Then it will not start up, maybe for an hour or so. We struggled with this for months-no one could figure it out. The dealer has replaced the battery, distributor, throttle body with map and tp sensor (they had it for 2 months). We just got it back, same problem. We drove it about 25 miles. Stopped for about an hour. Then we started the car and drove it about 100 feet-it shut down and will not restart. It has a new hot battery. The engine turns over fine, it will just not restart right away. When its running-it runs fine-no problems???
Any ideas??? thanks a lot-

wife's civic did the same thing.
there is a diode block inside the distributor. It was defective and would open up when it got hot.
If they replaced the distributor, did they use the same block or replace that too. I replaced mine separately, no, maybe not since the distributor was still in warranty, but I think it is available separately.

It is a problem with the fuel line? Air or sludge. Don't go to a dealer. Get an old experienced mechanic.

It sounds like your fuel filter is clogged. That should have been the first thing the dealer replaced before he stuck you for all the expensive parts.
