Why do tweens/teens like Hollister, Abercrombie, etc. SOOOO much? No one in my school really has a distinct style anymore...
Please Help!

it is because everybody else has it. it was the same way in the 80s when i was growing up. If you didn't wear guess jeans with the zipper at the ankles, or the super bright pac sun skater stuff, etc. you were not cool. everybody wore it.
I do think it is more fun to mix and match styles. Why set yourself up for one distinct fashion style like preppy for example...why not cross boundries and make your own style?

And Abercrombie, Hollister and AE, do not have bad clothes or style. (Maybe aero...ew!) It's just the fact that a lot of girls wear the brand wrong. They get so obsessed with ten logo tees, that they past up a really good knit or pant. And it is possible to wear Abercrombie and still have your own style, I do it all the time.

I think its mainly because everything is pretty and easy to wear, just put one of their tops on and you have an outfit! Thats not real style though. Style is about putting pieces together to make it look cool and individual without having to wear what everyone else wears! I think thats lame when no one has their own style...ah well there are still some people out there who do! I'm sure you do if you dont follow that trend ! Howweeverr I agree that you can still wear their clothes in an individual way!x x x x x

two words peer pressure when kids see popular kids wear a certain brand of clothing other kids go straight home tell their moms and dads that i have to have it no matter what style it is even if it ugly as long as it has the hollister or abercrombie name or symbol on it they want it!!!

Well, I'm not the type of person that follows the popular girl at school. Yeah, the popular girls wear those brands, but I wear them because I really do like their clothes.

alot of kids get in peer pressure. and their clothing is very likable. i like rock! (including little metal) but i dont dress all black! i like dressing nice. i go for my own style! just do your own thing, because in real life, people really dont care as long as your real! those are people you should hang out with!

its because its wat evry1 else has. i still with my own opinion...i was told veras were out of style and i still carry mine. not every1 really wears ae, so i wear it. i wanna be known for having my own mind, not having a controled one by ppl who have things that make them who they are.
