If you bought something for 20 pesos that translates to about 2 bucks back here in terms of exchange rate.
In reality, many things can be bought there cheaply that sell for much more here, like bottles of tequila for instance.

$2=20 pesos, really it can't buy you that much, its roughly the same, a lrg bottled water is about 8 pesos, and a bag a chips is about 5 pesos... so I think value wise one dollar is worth about twice over there.....since a bottle water should be $1.99 here, and a bag of chips $99 here.....
whatever the amount is here just add a zero to the end in Mexico, and move the decimal once aswell .....$1.00 = 10.00

Last time I checked the exchange rate was one U.S. dollar to 8 pesos (mexican dollars) but I haven't checked for a long long time.
