What they think they will accomplish is controlling terrorism. But what they will actually accomplish is the downfall of the United States. All that is needed right now is another uncalled for attack on a country for the whole world to finally turn against us. The cons aren't smart enough to realize that we are walking on thin ice. And that attacking Iran will cause the very thing they don't want to happen.

It will kill more innocent people there and it will destabilize the region even more.Diplomacy can work.Iran helped the US out with its efforts in Afghanistan.Bombing Iran will be bad for the region and bad for America in the long run.
I think conservatives are tired of the lost war in Iraq and need a new front to satisfy their misguided patriotism.This immature "bomb everything attitude" shows a severe lack of knowledge,emphaty and insight into the global political reality.People in Iran are human beings.War should be a last resort.

Iran is in the axis of evil big time,,they must be without any nuclear capability at all forever,think of the future.republicans still have the power to bomb Iran,and the American population is already conditioned to such,also we have been conditioned to 4 or 5 dollars a gallon gas prices. next election the Dem,s will still support bush,s work.the voters are but sheep..IRAN MAY BE DUST<<.enough of that ,you,yes you are a super hottie &smarter than any republican.you know it accomplishes sweet nothings,,chow freepress

Most conservatives I have heard don't think Bombing Iran is a good idea. (Yes John McCain used it as a joke, but I give him alittle more credit for anything he says. I would never vote for him but he can say whatever he wants. He was tortured in the Hanoi Hilton. Not Abu Grab or Gitmo torture. His arms were pulled out of socket.)

However they do not rule out bombing Iran for Peace at any cost. IF Iran develops nuclear weapons and becomes a threat, then and only then would it be a good idea to bomb Iran to remove a bomb by force.

"Surgical" strikes against their manufacturing centers, government, military, nuclear material research and development/storage areas might do us a lot of good. Take out their ability to fight, and to have material with which to trade would cripple them. Iran would be quite angry, but if crippled and unable to do more than moan about it, it just might do the world, and the Middle East some good.
That said, and based on other reports about how the rank and file of the people feel toward America, I think the best thing to do is to wipe out the political core that holds extremist views, and put in it's place a government that is pro-peace, and favors a good relationship with the west, as well as friendly countries in the region, and the far east as well. It's the government of Iran that is the problem, not the people. Solve the government issue, and the rest will most likely take care of itself.

It would be INSANE!!!

Do Americans realize there are over 1 billion Muslims in the world?????....And some live in countries that already have Nuclear weapons.

These neo-cons are playing with world-wide destruction.........exactly what has Iran and it's citizens, done to the citizens of the USA recently, that they should be punished for???

Bring the troops home, "RIGHT NOW"!!!

They are sick too! If another country was to bomb the US would you accept it, because its good for their economy? Well that kinds of thinking go nowhere! And hope the world don`t have many like this... But from what I see, they are too many!
Anyways, war is only good for the peoples that do not fight it! In this case, the banks, financial institutions, military contractors, and on! So you want to know how the wars are all starting, ask those peoples, they know better than everybody! And yet, they like it!!

it will distract the lemmings away from all of our real problems at home. i know several Persians, none of which i would consider killing. i worked at a medical college once where many of the female students were Persians. they were beautiful and friendly and all about their education, they could care less about partying or chasing boys.

It would seriously push the world against us.

Right now, we have a lot of whining, but when a country:
1) tries to assassinate your President;
2) tries to invade an ally (Kuwait);
3) pays suicide bombers to kill civilians (Israel);
4) breaks a cease-fire repeatedly in a decade,

most people will back you when you finally attack the country (Iraq).

Iran hasn't done that. That's why we haven't attacked it or N. Korea.

Oh, they've acted provocatively, but that's not enough to jeopardize their sovereignty.

However, if the U.S. gets enough proof of them sending people into Iraq, we may have what we need, and then it will prove one thing:

It's unwise to attack the United States, at any time, in any way.
