It's all a matter of personal taste. Personally, I can't stand pretty operating systems, so I usually turn off the themes in XP and Vista. I don't own a Mac, so I couldn't tell you much, except it doesn't seem to offer anything that an easier (and cheaper) combination of Linux and Windows could do.

Well Vista is just Windows XP service pack 3 with a new eye candy interface. And Mac OS X is a almost virus-free OS. Mac OS X also has a nice interface and it looks great! But, wait for Mac OS X Leopard that will come out in October. That Mac looks awesome!! It has a totally redesigned Desktop and it looks a lot better than Tiger! I say that Mac OS X wins, hands down.

definately mac. Functionality wise, windows is best for word documents and mac is best for media stuff

UBUNTU Linux it will run on both hardware platforms.
