I locked myself out through the garage and my front door was dead bolted and the patio door was locked and a guy told me to use a credit card. He told me to stick it through the crack and slide it up and down. I used a card by Osco, not a credit card, but similar and it actually worked. I prayed first. It will not work on a deadbolt he said.
Good luck.

How long have the animals been unfed? If you fed them this afternoon, they will be OK unless they don't have any water.
If they are going to be away for longer, I assume they will call and you can tell them. They may have a key hidden somewhere. You should always have a key to a house, in case this situation happens, as you can see that it does.
You can try to open the lock with a credit card, as thieves do it. Just slip it in the door at the lock point, and it might open the door. Good luck!

Try the credit card thing... If that doesn't work... call the police, they may be able to get the fire department to come down with a ladder truck and hoist you up to one of the upper windows if one is unlocked. ... You're gonna have to pay a locksmith, fire/police dept is free. Yes, a bit embarrassing, but your neighbor will appreciate the effort put forth to make sure the animals are OK.

A locksmith is your only hope. He will want proof that you are helping so once you get in you will have to show him the number and call the owners so they can verify you belong there.
