Yes I would get up to change TV channels. I've heard tales about a long, long, time ago they actually had TV's with only 13 channels and NO remote controls. The pioneer folks that owned them were a very fit bunch what with trekking back and forth from their easy chairs to the TV sets to change the channels. (They didn't need treadmills.)

So, if it was good enough for our forefathers and foremothers, it ought to be good enough for us. They didn't need no stinkin' remotes, and neither do I. Maybe it could become an Olympic event.

Well, if there was nothing on that channel I wanted to watch I'd first ask whoever was near me to change the channel (and find the remote) before I'd get up.

I would move. In fact When it is sitting right in my face, I ignore it and turn the set on and off manually. I feel like there
is a steep slope out there awaiting, and letting the t.v play over me is the first step downhill.
