I think a lot of people do realize it exists, however some of them don't believe it is man-made, or that the actions we take in "living green" can make a difference.
I have read and done enough research on the matter to not only believe it, but also have taken a number of steps to be as green and eco-friendly as possible in my lifestyle.
The stubborn deniers are the kind of ignorants who were denying that the earth is round because "the bible said so". They killed one of the greatest minds of all time, Keppler for saying that the earth is round. They were also going to kill Galileo Galilei, but he was old, so they put him under house arrest for the rest of his natural life, simply because he said that we are not the center of the universe and that the earth goes around the sun,- because it was against the teachings of the bible.
I am a believer. I am a person of faith and I am also a scientific minded, cerebral person who seeks truth.
Not taking action would be irresponsible for anyone who wants to leave a better planet to live in for our children and their children.
Hope this answers your question.

How about this question? Why are there people who do not accept the results of core drilling's in the Greenland Ice Cap, The Arctic, the Antarctic, Geology samplings from around the world, with calm minded, autonomous, scientists performing the tests and finding:: 1. THE EARTH HAS BEEN WARMING FOR THE LAST 15,000 TO 18,000 YEARS,2. The other planets in our solar system are also warming,3. The sun is warming, 4. Over the past 4to 5 BILLION years, the earths surface's temperature has fluctuated by MANY_ MANY degrees, F.
Perhaps, a far more important question is: Is there a personal financial motive, behind any one making claims, that this natural phenomenal condition is caused by mankind??? IF there is a person, or group of persons, making these claims, why??

You should like this answer. I am a Staunch conservative Republican and a Meteorologist. Now that being said basically it's as you said Ostrich Syndrome and a bad case of it.Nobody wants to pay when the bill comes due.I have lived in the state of Kentucky all my life and I vividly remember 4-5 foot deep snow on the ground many times here as a child in the 1970's and 80's and I have barely seen a flake in the last 5 years.I will also say this to anyone you personally know who doesn't believe in the effects of Global Warming, show them video of the melting Polar Ice Caps if that doesn't do it then they are beyond hope.Nice to see I am not the only one worried about the future of the planet we must all share. But at the same time don't worry too much about it Bushie will probably cause a nuclear war with his truly astounding stupidity before much more damage can be done anyway.Armageddon should cause much worse sunburn than the rapidly dissolving ozone layer will.

I think global warming does exist. I think it is a part of a normal pattern of the earth's climate, and I don't think humans are responsible for it. Were humans responsible for the last global warming that ended the ice age? Tell me, how did Greenland get it's name? It certainly isn't green now. And why is it that 35 years ago, the scientific community was warning about a new ice age? I'm not saying we ALL shouldn't be better stewards of the earth, but don't come at us with this end of the world scenario. The models used to determine global warming don't take into consideration the most potent greenhose gas, water vapor or the sun. Are humans causing Mars' polar caps to recede?

You know, there's such a thing as intellectual charity in a debate. You assume that your opponents are just as intelligent and just as reasonable as you are. When you start from the position that's it's insane for anyone to believe the opposite of what you believe, then you usually become arrogant, which leads to a false sense of self-righteousness.
Let me tell you right now that there are hundreds of scientists who disagree with you and can't understand why people like you think man-made global warming exists. You baffle them. And that's all right. Reasonable people can disagree and there is real evidence that anthropogenic global warming is not in play.

Oh this jogs my memory of my instructor she does have faith the ice caps are melting and such yet she does not have faith in international warming. Her motives are that the government are not relatively appearing quickly adequate or extensively adequate if we even have been going to finally end up under water in a pair of years and such. differences have been made and human beings are inspired extra to recycle yet for the outcomes of 'international warming' has the government relatively executed adequate? additionally perhaps some human beings do merely no longer want to settle for that it exists and are merely being ignorant.

I have seen no proof that CO2 is causing the warming we are experiencing at this time any more then there was evidence in the 70's that man was causing global cooling. It's sad that so many people believe what ever they are told without questioning it. It's a sad state of affairs our public education (indoctrination) system has brought to this country.
Convince me that man is causing this and I will be on your side don't show me stupid Hollywood movies that say it, show me proof.
Tell me why you think CO2 is a pollutant?
tell me how CO2 can have such an effect when it's a trace gas in the environment, 360 ppm?
Tell me why I should believe the measurements when the only
long term CO2 measurements are taken on the big Island of Hawaii less then 50 miles from the longest continuously erupting volcano on the planet that spews CO2 emissions?

I don't think there are to many people who don't believe there is some sort of global warming going on. I think the debate is whats causing it. The cult of global warming would have you believe it is entirely man made. While other scientist think it is a natural cycle. Those in the cult are unable to see reason as their minds are buzzing from the kool-aid. And the other scientist who offer differing opinions are treated like all liberal opponents. They are demonized and slandered, their academic credibility's questioned.

Of course it exist, but I do not believed that the planet suffering is caused by human activities!! They are clear evidences that our planet weather has varied over time, and that its part of a natural cycle! Eventually the weather will warmed up until it reaches a plateau and then will fall back again! So thinking that humans can influences this nature is truly arrogant! So all of this human caused GW is just a political leverages to reach certain goals, like slowing the development of emerging countries, and start the first of a series of global taxes (carbon tax is such tax). And the most important aspect of this GW scam is that the elites of our countries want to transform the whole planet ecosystem into a marketable thing.. Just read this link:

so the earth has been around for 4-6 billion years, and we are able to destroy it with industry in less than 200 years. You have to be kidding. Global warming is a hoax. You actually think that driving a prius or changing your light bulbs is going to save the world? Why then is other planets also warming, could that have anything to do with the sun? The same people who said in the 70s the world was experiencing global cooling. It is just a convient way to tax people and make people feel better about themselves while the government takes your money.
