I have an opinion on this matter and I feel that if the majority agrees with me, it's time to stop typing and start marching.
It make sense to me that neither party benefits from stopping this war. It appears to be an election year ploy. The dems know if they are able to force the issue and stop the war, there is a good chance it will result in genocide and the repubs will be able to use this against them in 2008. The repubs will never switch over to join the dems to end the war. If they do and the worst happens it will be used against them in 2008. So, in my opinion, neither party is willing to do the will of the people, they have a $270K + expenses job and they're willing to allow those young men and women to continue to die in their attempt to keep that job.
I feel the war will be left for the next president to resolve. For you Hillary voters, don't fool yourself into thinking that if she's elected she bring them home. She's already stated that she will leave troops there.

I think they'll have to bring the troops home in ORDER to keep their jobs. The representatives may not have many children in the armed services, but their constituencies darned well do.

The goal of any politician, be it Democrat or Republican is to get elected and reelected. So they will preach what their constituents want to hear. They will approve bills that favor those who contributed to their individual campaigns. In my opinion there is difference between the two parties. They will do what's best for their respective parties using the American People as an excuse.

neither party controls the war. the criminals behind the scenes call the shots. follow the money, follow the drugs, there you you will find the corruption and and the real terrorist. the clintons are criminals and domestic terrorist as well. many do want them home on both sides of the isle. thing is, the "deciders" keep giving themselves more and more power every day. can you say natzi's ? how about communist? america as we know it is almost gone, the point of no return is almost here. but for some reason, some try to "dumb it down", try to make it sound like its not as bad or as urgent as it is..............

Once we cut through all of the BS - I truly believe neither party wants to be responsible for the possible consequences of allowing the terrorists a victory in Iraq.
I think they all realize that this is a war that we must win - despite their non-binding resolutions and constant rhetoric.

All running excluding the far far far left, know the disaster that would follow from early pull out would ruin their legacy.
They are just saying what their constituents want to hear.

Not all of them. Certainly not at once. However, I do believe that the democrats want to bring a large number of our troops back home.
It will take awhile, though.
