I would go with Ormond Beach (spent many summers there growing up). It's quieter than Daytona, but close to everything that Daytona offers.
Head over to http://www.resideo.com/us/florida/ormondbeach/ and click the "Check Availability" button. Choose your dates, submit the form, then sort the results by price -- that'll put the cheapest places first.
You can then read about each hotel, view pics, book online...
Hope that helps -- good luck, and have fun!

Try the Acapulco Inn. Here's the website.
http://www.acapulcoinn.com/
I've stayed there twice and both times it was great. It was just renovated last year so its nicely updated. It has a pool and a complimentary breakfast. It was about $50 a night both times that I stayed there. I always used a low cost travel website to book it though, such as expedia, travelocity, or orbitz. It is right in the heart of daytona but a little ways from the area where most of the tourists stay so the beach will be less crowded.

Try New Smyrna Beach. Much prettier than Daytona, and it's 1/2 way between Daytona and Kennedy Space Center.

On daytona beach, where i recently stayed for 2 weeks, i stayed at dolphin beach club.
Not sure on the prices, but was a really nice stay there
Thing is, shortest stay is a week.
Other than this, theres the "south shore motel" which is a few minutes down the road from the last place.
search on the net for more information
:)
hope this has helped.
